W@W Conference June 23-27, 2008
Writers @ Work Conference:
Each day of the conference begins with coffee and company -- choose your own source(s) of stimulation -- followed by one of eight morning workshops designed and taught by professional instructor/writers, an optional box lunch, and an afternoon program that addresses the varied practical issues of writing and publishing. Each evening, relax and enjoy a reading given by our distinguished faculty, guest writers and fellows.
Please note that Fellowship Competition manuscripts do not satisfy the writing sample requirements for juried workshops.
Three Ways to Join the Fun
For the first time, this year our attendees are asked to submit a writing sample for juried evaluation. This new approach will allow each participant to attend the workshop best suited to his or her level of proficiency and chosen genre.
The 2008 conference also marks the beginning of a joint venture with the University of Utah’s Lifelong Learning Center -- a partnership that allows Writers at Work to offer open registration (which does not require a writing sample) for workshops led by the University's excellent Writer’s Toolbox faculty.
A third option is to register only for the afternoon sessions, or for a manuscript consultation, or box lunch. As always, the evening readings are free and open to the public.
