Volunteer and Work-Study Program

 

Writers at Work offers volunteer and work-study opportunities at the annual conference. Benefits include free access to all afternoon sessions and readings, as well as the opportunity to network with other writers, both published and unpublished.

For individuals who volunteer 15 hours during the week and sign up for a workshop, benefits also include:

  • Workshop tuition discounted to $275.00 (instead of $395.00)
    [limited to first 4]
  • Manuscript consultation with a visiting faculty, editor or agent.


Other volunteer opportunities:

For 10 hours of volunteer time:

  • Afternoon sessions.
  • Manuscript consultation with a visiting faculty, editor or agent.

 

For 6 hours of volunteer time:

  • Afternoon sessions.

 

Volunteer and work-study duties may include:

  • Transporting guests to and from the Salt Lake City Airport and Westminster.
  • Transporting guests around the Sugarhouse area.
  • Orienting guests to the Westminster College campus.
  • Assisting workshop faculty with various tasks including photocopying, taking notes, etc.
  • Assisting with Young Writers events.
  • Assisting Writers at Work board members with the hosting of readings and afternoon sessions.
  • Assisting at the registration desk.
