Writers @ Work brings a national presence to Utah that cultivates a public appreciation of good writing and creates a stimulating environment for writers in the intermountain area to encourage and promote their work.
Possible yearly events:
Competitions: Winners of these competitions (three to four per year) will be featured readers at W@W sponsored readings and published in an on-line journal.

W@W sponsored readings:
Writing Clinics: These one day events will feature a nationally recognized author who will work with a small group (no more than 20) to hone writing skills and develop a peer network. These events will be genre specific. At the least W@W will sponsor a fiction and creative non-fiction mini-conference annually and using data from the survey could add other genre depending on interest.
Annual Conference: This is the W@W signature event. Starting in the summer of 2011 the event will feature nationally known authors, editors, and agents as core faculty. The event will have genre workshops, panels, group discussions, and evening readings featuring faculty and winners of the conference specific competition.

Master's Writing Workshop
Retreats to Boulder Utah where a small group of writers will meet for five days to write and share their work.A Think Outside-the-Box
three part series that will on the first weekend explore engagement of the creative brain, recording those thoughts in a journal. A couple of months later this limited group will spend a weekend in southern Utah visiting rock-art sites and learning about the prehistoric inhabitants of Utah. The last weekend in this series will explore the ecologic and geologic wonder of Utah. This will all be tied together in an event where participants share their observations and work with other friends of W@W.Past events:
