Congratulations 2016 Scholarship Winners

Writers@Work is pleased to announce its 2016 Scholarship Winners. Winners receive full conference tuition, room and board for the Writers@Work Annual Conference held at Alta Lodge from June 15-19th. This year’s winners are:



Katherine Taylor Allred is a former literary and managing editor of Folio, Salt Lake Community College’s arts and literary magazine; a former intern at the SLCC Publication Center; a former documentary film production manager; a former assistant librarian; and a former bagel monger. She is currently a copy editor at the Daily Utah Chronicle and a web content writer at SLCC. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Utah and lives in Salt Lake City with four children, three dogs, two fruit trees, and one man.





Chelsea Maki is a recent creative writing graduate of Weber State University. In 2016, her work was published by numerous journals, including Metaphor and Mistake House. When Chelsea is not writing, she is likely performing live comedy improv at the Comedy Loft in Ogden with her husband, Chris. Her other interests include drawing, hiking, cosplay and naps.
